Back to school for our Crèche

After a truly well-deserved summer and festive break, the South African academic year resumed on 15 January 2025. With the new year, we welcomed some tiny new precious faces to our creche.
Siyaphambili Creche in Masinenge enrolled over 15 new toddlers for the year 2025, not forgetting the precious years scholars, of whom some will also graduate come the end of the year.
“We are excited to welcome our new members, as you can see day one has been unbelievably busy. However, we are up to the task and are ready to get the year under way,” said head teacher Miriam Lunika.

The day began with the parents dropping off their children early as they all prepare to head back to work. Upon arriving, the new children were acknowledged along with those from last year and when some of the parents left, the inevitable tears began.
But not to worry, it did not take long for the tears to turn to cheers and mam’Miriam (as she is affectionately known) along with all the other teachers began a welcome song.
“The first day is always hardest on the new children as they have never been in a school environment, but we know fun and, joy and celebration always brings them around,” Miriam said.
After the welcoming processions, the children enjoyed a lovely warm bowl of porridge, provided by Abounding Hope and its sponsors, to ensure that they have had a meal for the morning.

After some food, it was time for some fun on the jungle gym, before returning to class and partaking in some fun coloring worksheets.
When lunchtime comes around, its naptime for our little scholars, before waking up and continuing to play while waiting for the parents to come fetch them, or an immediate home time.
